Yesterday I went to visit the charity, when I got to their office they had already planned everything, the only thing they had to do was explain it to me. With the money we were able to collect, we helped 20 families. The money we donated was spent on food supplies which are going to be handed out to the 20 families. Yesterday I was part of the delivery for 7 families. At first we went to a food market, where they already prepared the boxes with the supplies. Once we had everything we went off to visit the families. As I am from Kosovo I had an idea of what the building would look like and how the families lived, however walking around the building and seeing how little they had, made my whole body shiver. At first I was allowed to meet every family, they all had a different story to tell which were all very moving. While walking around the building I handed out the bracelets, which we weren't able to sell. At the end all the children had a bracelet and even some parents had one on, which made me smile. After the tour in the building we got the food supplies out of the car and each family got a box filled with, flour, sugar, salt, jam, cooking oil, rice, pasta, soap, shampoo and Washing powder. They were all so happy and grateful to get just some food supplies that would last them for at least one month and they would further be supported by the organization.

I couldn't believe that this project is finished now, Sarah, Ella and I would like to thank everyone who supported this charity by buying our bracelets and baked goods. We all want this project to continue so our goal for next year is to find a few other students who would keep this project going, even if it isn't selling bracelets.

After another half year hard at work we managed to go up from $625 at the end of December to $1000 francs by the end of school! We sold another 4 times, both bracelets and baked goods, and donated the last amount ourselves to meet our goal.
Jehona, who is from Kosovo, will be visiting the Mother Teresa society.
There she can participate as the charity distributes badly needed supplies such as clothes and food, to families that live in poverty in Kosovo. Her experiences there will also be documented here, so that everyone who bought a bracelet can see where their money went. Thank you to everyone who did so!

We have sold many times at school now, and since many people have already purchased our bracelets we are broadening what we are selling to baked goods as well. Sarah made a marble cake, and there has also been brownies and cupcakes for sale.
Although sales are slowing down we are all still very determined to meet our goal of $1000 francs, which we can contribute to the Mother Teresa society. Kosovo is a country wracked by extreme poverty and ethnic tensions, and the Mother Teresa society is a worthy cause that we are supporting in their efforts to improve people's lifes in Kosovo.
Our current plan is to continue selling till the end of the year,  so that when Jehona visits Kosovo over the summer she can bring them the money personally. She will also bring bracelets to give to the organization. By that time we should have reached our goal of 1000 francs.

We started to notice that demand for our bracelets was falling in school and so we were desperate to start selling outside school. Jehona called her siblings school who were holding a fair the coming weekend, and we were lucky enough to be allowed to sell. We sold one of the two days at the fair.
It was a long cold day, from 10 in the morning to 5 in the afternoon but it was worth it as we sold a lot! We sold a total of 81 bracelets, and made roughy 260 francs. We lowered the prices from the usual because there was many young kids at the fair that we wanted to appeal to. Even though sales were slow at times it was completely worth it selling at the fair because you're there for a longer amount of time, and lots of people are coming through. This project will last into next year, and so it's important we don't exhaust our market at school too quickly.
As there are only two school weeks, and one exam week left before winter break, we will sell the bracelets we have left this coming Thursday to hopefully reach 600 francs before winter break. During Winter Break we will continue to make bracelets so that we can continue selling at school, and hopefully other markets in the new year!

This Thursday was the first day that we sold our bracelets. We only sold the string friendship bracelets because we stil have to make bead ones. The selling went better then expected, we sold around 30 and raised roughly 160 dollars! People seemed very excited by the bracelets and I think that we will be able to keep selling a lot more. Students also made requests for bracelets, and many teachers thought to ask their children which ones they would like for next week.
For our long term plan, we will continue selling into December, and then we will take a break and make new ones over December break. When we get back after the break we will start planning to sell at school fairs and local fairs, such as International Day.
We are also keeping in touch with the Mother Teresa Society in Kosovo, keeping them updated on our progress.

Over the past week we have all been working hard on our project. Firstly we have all been making bracelets. This will get us ready to start selling the first week of November.
Secondly, we have assigned extra things for everyone to do. Jehona is in charge of emailing the lady in charge of the charity and she has done so, with the emails down below. Ella will be making a brochure that people can look at when we are selling the bracelets, and Sarah the artist of the group will be making a poster for our stand.
We are well on track to starting to sell, and all of us are extremely excited to get this up and running.

Today we created our plan:
Project:
For this long-term project we will create different bracelets and other jewellery for the mother Theresa Association in Kosovo. This association helps poor families and children by providing them food and health care. The bracelets that we will be making will be sold inside and outside of school to raise money for the charity.

Goal:
As this will be a long-term project and 3 people will be working on making the bracelets, there will be a lot of bracelets to sell. Our goal for this project is to raise $1000 francs by selling jewellery.

Planning:
October to November: Create the jewellery
November onwards: Sell and create the jewellery at the same time. Selling will take place Wednesday at lunch time in school.
Long Term: Arrange a stall at International Day.

Prices:
3 to 4 – for string bracelets as these will be hand made and they are very popular in school. These are also it is suitable for boys and girls.
5 to 7 - for bracelets with beads.

Further Questions:
Where else can we sell bracelets?
